Waist Deep! Winter Skills Courses

I have just finished a series of Winter Skills Courses with Loughborough Students Mountaineering Club. What a week!

With waist deep snow, difficult driving and dreary weather we had a tough week bashign our way through the northern corries playing in the snow. Looking at avalanche risk (in detail as the risk was high on certain slopes), digging snow holes and shelters, creating snow anchors, navigation, using our crampons and ice axes and generally trying to survive the good old scottish winter.

Thanks to eveyone, you were a great group and it was good fun to be based in Mill Cottage where we could continue the course into the evening!

Until next year?
